Vision 2017

Texas Southmost College is returning to its core mission, building on nearly a century of service and success. As part of the strategic planning process, Texas Southmost College (TSC) has developed a unique Vision Statement, Mission Statement, Role and Scope, and Values that will serve to guide the institution over the next five years.  The College's new mission statement provides the foundation for TSC to expand upon the successes of the past, while embracing a revived commitment to the comprehensive community college mission.

The information obtained from over 350 participants during the community summits and focus group sessions, in which members of the TSC board attended were compiled and reviewed by the TSC Strategic Planning Committee.  This Committee was entrusted to prepare a draft the vision, mission, values and goals of the institution for review and consideration by the TSC Board of Trustees.

The College's new strategic plan serves as the foundation for TSC's role within the communities in which it serves.  It has allowed TSC to remember its history, prior to and during the Partnership.  As importantly, it has allowed TSC to return to its core mission for which it was created — that of a comprehensive, public community college serving the needs of the communities in which it serves.  The community college mission of opportunity, access and affordability resounded throughout the numerous community summits and focus group sessions that were held over a two-month period.  As a result, TSC is fully focused on providing programs and services aligned with the mission of a fully comprehensive, public community college, as noted below.
