Welcome to the Texas Southmost College Accounting Technology Program. The Accounting Technology program offers a Certificate of Proficiency Level-One and an Associate of Applied Science degree. The Program is designed with the assistance of the Accounting Advisory Committee comprised of various business professionals from the community who are well aware of the job potential in today’s market.

As a student in the Accounting Technology program, learn how to:

  • Process Business Transactions
  • Prepare Financial Statements
  • Prepare Bank Reconciliation
  • Process Payroll & Taxes
  • Prepare E-filed Federal Income Taxes
  • Apply the use of different software:
    • QuickBooks
    • Microsoft Excel: Basic & Advanced
    • Microsoft Access
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Participate in Service Learning-Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
  • Participate in Cooperative Education (Internship/Work Experience)
