Faculty Mentoring: TSC is in a growth cycle and as a result has a relatively young faculty. One of the consequences of the separation between UTB and TSC was the retirement of senior faculty members. With the early retirement of senior faculty members, TSC lost a generation of knowledge and a wealth of support for upcoming faculty.

Mentors (Academic Coach) for High-Risk students: Local TSC-VS's can mentor TSC students who are struggling academically. Without a support system, navigating higher education can be overwhelming for many students. Since the majority of TSC students are first generation college students, they may lack access to individuals to guide their educational path. The TSC-VS mentor can work with a cohort of students to assist in their transition to TSC and their ultimate transition to a degree completion program or workforce. .. Additionally, the TSC-VS can offer individualized, content specific, tutoring.
