Spring 2019 Graduation Ceremony

Grad Fair

3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Oliveira Student Services Building 2nd Floor

During the Grad Fair you can:

  • Purchase and pick up your cap and gown for commencement.  The fee for your cap and gown is just $20, payable by cash, check, or credit card at the cashiers at Oliveira 1st Floor.  Take your receipt to the Grad Fair in the Lightner Center.  You must show your receipt to pick up your cap and gown. If you can't attend grad fair then you can pick up your cap and gown at the Lightner Center Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm. Must show receipt at the time you pick up.
  • Pick up your free invitations. Graduate will receive 5 invitations free of charge.
  • Meet with university transfer representatives from a variety of universities and learn about their transfer process.
  • Meet with TSC staff from Transfer, Career and Employment Services who can assist you in the next step towards your career.
  • Meet with TSC Financial Aid staff who can answer any questions you may have regarding your college loans.
  • Get more information regarding the commencement ceremony.

Honor Cords

At the time of graduation, students earning an associate degree will be recognized for sustained scholastic excellence by graduating with appropriate honors . Honors will be based upon a student's cumulative grade point average on all non-developmental undergraduate hours completed the semester previous to graduation. If courses have been repeated, the last grade recorded will be used in determining grade point average. Honor cords will be distributed at the Women's Center when you check-in on the day of graduation.

TSC will be hosting two commencement ceremonies.

The first ceremony will begin at 10:00am and will consist of the following Academic Divisions:

   Division of College Preparatory Studies
   Division of Humanities
   Division of Health Professions
   Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics/Career and Technical Education
   Division of Humanities:

  • Associate of Arts-Art
  • Associate of Applied Science- Accounting Technology
  • Associate of Applied Science- Business Management and Technology
  • Associate of Applied Science- Child Care and Development
  • Associate of Applied Science- Medical Office Management
  • Certificate of Proficiency Level One- Accounting Technology
  • Certificate of Proficiency Level One- Child Care and Development
  • Certificate of Proficiency Level One- Legal Assisting
  • Certificate of Proficiency Level One- Microsoft Certified Specialist
  • Certificate of Proficiency Level One- Medical Coding and Billing

    
Candidates for Graduation must arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. ceremony.

The second ceremony will begin at 2:00pm and will consist of the following Academic Divisions:

Division of Humanities

  • Associate of Arts- Business
  • Associate of Arts- Criminal Justice
  • Associate of Arts- General Studies
  • Associate of Arts- Social Work
  • Associate of Arts- Teaching –EC-6th Grade Teaching
  • Associate of Arts- Teaching –8th-12th Grade Teaching

Candidates for Graduation must arrive no later than 12:30 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. ceremony.

Check-In

Candidates for Graduation should check in for the ceremony at the Women's Center located next to Jacob Brown Memorial Auditorium.  Candidates for Graduation arriving late may not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

Please do not bring any personal items such as balloons, bouquets or purses as they will not be allowed in the seating area.  Only Candidates for Graduation will be allowed into the Women's Center during check-in.

Diplomas

Only diploma covers will be handed out on stage during the ceremony.  Diploma covers will only be given to Candidates for Graduation participating in the commencement ceremony.  Official diplomas will be available at the Office of Admissions and Records for certified degrees. An email will be sent notifying the graduates when they will be ready for pick-up.
