The Employees Retirement System of Texas 2018 Summer Enrollment for Texas Southmost College is July 9 – July 21, 2018. Any benefit changes made during this time period becomes effective September 1, 2018.

Changes beginning September 1, 2018

  • The health insurance and prescription drug Opt-Out Credit can be applied toward State of Texas Vision insurance, in addition to dental and AD&D insurance.
  • The State of Texas Dental Choice Plan has important benefit changes.
  • The State of Texas Vision routine eye exam copay has decreased from $25 to $15. Additionally, participants can take their annual eye exam at any time within the plan year, there is no 12-month waiting period.
  • The IRS has increased the flexible spending account contribution limits for TexFlex health care and limited flexible spending accounts from $2,600 to $2,650.

What you can do during Summer Enrollment

  • Enroll in or make changes to your health coverage.
  • Add or drop your dependents from your coverage.
  • Add or drop vision and dental coverage for yourself and your dependents.
  • Enroll in TexFlex account to help budget for your health and/or daycare expenses – and save money on taxes.
  • Change your annual contribution in TexFlex.
  • Apply for, increase, decrease or drop life insurance coverage.
  • Apply for or drop a dependent term life insurance plan for your dependents.
  • Enroll in, increase or drop Voluntary Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage.

IF NO CHANGES ARE MADE, your benefits remain the same beginning September 1, 2018.
