Eleven Brownsville police and two TSC security officers completed a five-week American Sign Language (ASL) training course on June 29, 2016, that was provided as a free service by Texas Southmost College (TSC).

Texas Southmost College's Automotive Technology Program was the beneficiary of a BMW engine that was donated by Toyota Brownsville on June 22, 2016, at the automaker's local dealership.

Twenty-five Texas Southmost College students were inducted into the College's Alpha Mu Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society on April 29, 2016 during a solemn induction ceremony at SETB.

Roxanne GarciaAccounting major Roxanne García returned to school in 2014 and already had a heavy schedule raising her 8-year-old daughter. In addition to a full course load, the Port Isabel native is a part-time tutor and works part-time as a waitress at a restaurant at South Padre Island.
