Mexican Consulate presents IME grant for TSC students
The Mexican Consulate presented an IME Becas grant to Texas Southmost College on Dec. 20, 2016 at the TSC Arts Center Gold Hall in Brownsville, Texas. The Mexican Consulate in Brownsville presented Texas Southmost College (TSC) with a check for a $5,000 grant from the Instituto de Mexicanos en el Exterior (IME) Becas program to aid low-income TSC students that are Mexican nationals or of Mexican origin.

Early Childhood program ‘Jump with Jill’

Guerra Early Childhood Center danced and sang with the “Jump with Jill” performers to learn about eating healthy and following proper nutrition.Preschoolers at the Texas Southmost College Raúl J. The Texas Southmost College (TSC) Raúl J. Guerra Early Childhood Center was jumping with children laughing and dancing to the “Jump with Jill” performance that visited the college in late October.

Art students awarded for downtown murals at competition
TSC art students Lourdes María Ong, Cristina Garza and Margarito Saucedo were selected as winners of the Capitol Theatre Street-Art Competition during the 20th Annual Brownsville Latin Jazz Festival this fall. The three art students competed as part of the TSC Artisan Syndicate Art Club and were recognized by the Board of Trustees during the October 2016 meeting.TSC art students Lourdes María Ong, Cristina Garza and Margarito Saucedo were selected as winners of the Capitol Theatre Street-Art Competition during the 20th Annual Brownsville Latin Jazz Festival this fall. A trio of Texas Southmost College (TSC) Artisan Syndicate Art Club students were among seven winning artists awarded for their murals at the Capitol Theatre Street-Art Competition during the 20th Annual Brownsville Latin Jazz Festival this fall.
